About Me
There's so much to say here, but I'll skip to the good parts!
I’m a Boston native with a background in Special Education and years of experience as an independent recording and performing artist. I grew up quite the introvert, but always felt connected to music and the stage. It took until my high school years to finally break out of a very thick shell and begin my radical journey of self discovery. Some things I learned along the way were:
-
I absolutely love to sing and feel that life is meaningless without music and dance.
-
I get my cheerful, empathetic, energetic and highly comical nature from my dad.
-
I will always be an introvert, but I’m a performer and storyteller at heart.
-
I really, really love being an Aquarius.
-
Songwriting gives me a healthy release when my spoken words fail me.
-
My experience as a teacher and singer has increased my confidence, made me a better communicator, and helped me to always expect the unexpected.
Between being a singer/songwriter, creating original songs for myself and other artists, movie soundtracks and searching for sync licensing opportunities, while also working as a voice actor I realize how much of a home I’ve made inside of the vocal recording booth. When asked by my friends where I’ve been, the answer (being too complicated for casual conversation) would always be, “I’ve been in the booth!” This truth would become the name of my small t-shirt brand for voice actors, singers, songwriters, producers, musicians, rappers, audio engineers, booth techs, or anyone who spends time in a recording booth or studio, Been In The Booth, now selling on Etsy.
In voice acting, I’ve found a space in which my quirks, funny voices, love of storytelling and vocal recording, along with my passionate nature are all useful in their own right. I’m finding my voice behind the mic and putting my gifts to work. And quite frankly, I’m really enjoying the journey!
